    The scientific research team of Huazhong Agricultural University made a breakthrough in animal genome breeding technology

    On March 8, the reporter learned from Huazhong Agricultural University that the school team developed a new tool for high-performance genome breeding big data calculation HIBLUP (Chinese name "Tianquan") after 5 years.     It is reported that this technology was developed by the team of Professor Zhao Shuhong from Hubei Hongshan Laboratory, Animal Breeding and Healthy Breeding Frontier Science Center. According to reports, as a new genome breeding calculation tool, "Tianquan" has the advantages of fast calculation speed and low memory consumption in the construction of individual kinship matrix, single-trait and multi-trait model fitting; it is also suitable for genome breeding big data calculation , can independently carry out genome selection and matching calculation. At the same time, "Tianquan" can run on various operating systems.

    At present, relevant research results have recently been published online in the international academic journal "Nucleic Acid Research", and have been rated as "breakthrough progress" papers.
