From the perspective of the first completers of the award-winning projects, the number of first completers of the award-winning projects in 2022 is between 40 and 50 years old, with a total of 114 people, accounting for 38%. There are 8 persons under the age of 35 as the first completers of the award-winning project, including 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, and 5 third prizes. Among the award-winning projects led by universities, there are 3 special prizes, accounting for 75% of the special awards; 64 first prizes, accounting for 65% of the first prizes. Research institutes led 49 awards, accounting for 19% of all award-winning projects.

The main role of enterprise innovation is highlighted, and key industry innovation groups are added

Among the award-winning projects of the 2022 Shanghai Science and Technology Award, 182 projects were awarded by enterprises as the lead unit or cooperative unit, accounting for 60% of all award-winning projects. Enterprises as the leading unit won 88 awards, accounting for 29%. All this shows that the main role of enterprises in innovation has been significantly enhanced.

In addition, for Shanghai's three leading industries - biomedicine, integrated circuits, and artificial intelligence, the 2022 Shanghai Science and Technology Award review team has added a key industry innovation team.
