Break the world record! Chinese scientists realize the preparation of 51 superconducting qubit cluster states

Chinese scientists recently successfully realized the preparation and verification of 51 superconducting qubit cluster states, setting a new world record for the number of truly entangled bits in all quantum systems.

The reporter learned from the Chinese Academy of Sciences that the research was jointly completed by Academician Pan Jianwei of the University of Science and Technology of China, Zhu Xiaobo, Peng Chengzhi's team, and Yuan Xiao of Peking University. The relevant results were published online in the international academic journal "Nature" on July 12.

"This work greatly refreshed the record of the number of truly entangled bits in a quantum system from the original 24 to 51, fully demonstrating the excellent scalability of the superconducting quantum computing system." Pan Jianwei said, on this basis, the research team For the first time, the measurement-based variable quantum algorithm was realized, which laid the foundation for the practical application of the measurement-based quantum computing scheme.
