    China’s third-generation independent superconducting quantum computer “Original Wukong” goes online today

    Today (6th), reporters learned from the Anhui Provincial Quantum Computing Engineering Research Center and the Anhui Provincial Key Laboratory of Quantum Computing Chips that China’s third-generation independent superconducting quantum computer “Original Wukong” was launched online at 9 o’clock today.

    This quantum computer is equipped with a 72-bit independent superconducting quantum chip "Wukong Core" and is currently China's most advanced programmable and deliverable superconducting quantum computer.

    Superconducting quantum computers are quantum computers based on superconducting circuit quantum chips. Internationally, both IBM and Google quantum computers adopt superconducting technology.

    Dr. Kong Weicheng, deputy director of the Anhui Provincial Quantum Computing Engineering Research Center, introduced that "Original Wukong" matches the Origin third-generation quantum computing measurement and control system "Original Tianji", which is the first time in China that the batch automated testing of quantum chips has been truly implemented.     China's third-generation 72-bit superconducting quantum computer released this time is named "Wukong", which comes from the mythical figure Sun Wukong in traditional Chinese culture, which means "72 transformations" like Sun Wukong.

    Dr. Jia Zhilong, deputy director of the Anhui Provincial Key Laboratory of Quantum Computing Chips, told reporters that "Wukong" is equipped with a 72-bit superconducting quantum chip "Wukong Core". This chip is manufactured on China's first quantum chip production line and has a total of 198 qubits, including 72 working qubits and 126 coupler qubits.
