    2024 China Overseas Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Launched

    On April 9, The Paper learned from the China Association for Science and Technology that the 2024 China Overseas Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was officially launched as one of the series of activities of the 26th Annual Conference of the China Association for Science and Technology.

    The competition announcement shows that from April to the end of May 2024, organizations’ recommendation channels and talents from home and abroad will register through the competition registration system.

    In June 2024, each competition area will organize online preliminary reviews, online and offline defenses, and select projects that enter the finals according to each track.

    In mid-July 2024, the competition finals and award ceremony will be held during the annual meeting of the China Association for Science and Technology, and related supporting activities such as project exhibitions will be held at the same time.

    After the competition, project matching negotiations will be conducted based on the matching of the preliminary matching needs of various places to promote the implementation of the projects, and continuous project matching tracking services will be provided.

    This competition is co-organized by the China Association for Science and Technology and the People's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region . It has 13 overseas competition areas and 1 domestic competition area. The theme is "Innovation Leading, Dreaming about the Future". It aims to promote the implementation of more active, more open and more effective talent policies, strengthen international talent exchanges, support overseas talents to share China's development opportunities, fully participate in the construction of a modern industrial system, and accelerate the development of new quality productivity.

    This competition is divided into five tracks: life and health, digital economy, green and low-carbon, advanced manufacturing, future industries and cultural creativity.

    Among them, the "Life and Health" track includes modern biomedicine, high-end medical equipment, smart medicine, life sciences, bioengineering, food safety, agricultural product processing, and healthy elderly care.

    The "digital economy" track includes fields such as big data, blockchain, the Internet of Things, virtual reality, digital agriculture, digital infrastructure, digital industrialization, and digital public services.

    The "green and low-carbon" track includes green environmental protection, carbon neutrality, new energy industries, energy storage technology, resource recycling and other fields.

    The "advanced manufacturing" track includes new materials industry, high-end equipment manufacturing, agricultural technology, intelligent special equipment, intelligent manufacturing system solutions, optoelectronic display manufacturing, aerospace equipment, power equipment, smart terminals and other fields.

    The "Future Industries and Cultural Creativity" track includes next-generation mobile communications, artificial intelligence, metaverse, big data, large models, blockchain, quantum information, the Internet of Things, virtual reality, human-computer interaction, digital twins, brain-computer interaction, digital creativity, tourism and cultural creativity.
