Today (April 16), the reporter learned from the China Geological Survey of the Ministry of Natural Resources that the "Dream", my country's first independently developed ultra-deepwater ocean drilling ship, has entered the debugging and interior installation stage and is expected to be fully completed this year.
At the mouth of the Pearl River in Nansha District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, the "Dream" ocean drilling ship is carrying out equipment commissioning and installation of the interior laboratory. The "Dream" has a gross tonnage of 33,000 and can work continuously at sea for 120 days with a full load of 180 crew members, with a cruising range of 15,000 nautical miles. At the same time, 1.2 million meters of cables are laid on the ship, fully covered with information technology, and intelligent collaboration between ships and shores is realized, so that the "Dream" not only has the ability to sail in unlimited areas in the world's waters, but is also the world's only scientific research drilling ship with a drilling capacity of 11,000 meters. In the future, it will mainly undertake major national scientific and technological projects and international ocean scientific drilling tasks.
